Villa Sonnenberg was built in the 18th century and has been renovated and extended by various owners. With the latest renovation and conversion, the old buildings are now used as a domicile for artists in residence as well as a conference center.

The interior design challenges consisted in establishing a balanced interplay between: preservation of historical substance, new interior design elements based on 19th century motifs, and modern furnishings that also merge naturally into the overall historical picture.
